Global Warming

We will be spending much of the coming year studying

the issues which face the global environment.

Sometimes, these seem like problems that are being dealt

with in other areas of the world and don't really hit

home. However, most of these issues can and should hit

home. The goal of this project is to gain a better

understanding of how some of these challenges are

addressed locally and to think critically about our options

for the future.

Because of the lack of federal global warming legislation, many people have begun discussing options at the state level.  California was the first state to pass legislation and Northeastern states have created a regional initiative to reduce greenhouse gases (RGGI – Massachusetts has not yet joined).  Should this be a problem that states address or is it really a federal issue?
